Three AM thoughts: what is our subconscious trying to say?

I have read you should take note of what you think about when you wake at three am. It is, as some people believe a magic hour where your subconscious can speak freely without the usual filter of modern concerns.

If you are struggling with a dilemma in life and do not know which way to turn, you are supposed to think about it as you go to sleep and when you wake up at three am the thought which goes through your mind is the direction you should go.

This idea of a magic hour where I will find the truth is, I gotta say pretty fantastic in every sense of the word.

So in an effort to be more in tune with myself, I have been paying attention to my three am thoughts, I even have a little notebook where I write whatever the thought might be on those occasions when I woke up at three am so I can read it later once I am fully awake. Reading those notes written in the dark without the benefit of my glasses is interesting all on its own and does make for a fun game at a more reasonable time in the morning.

I have only ever tried to use this magic hour purposefully, to that end I have been thinking about what I need out of life as I go to sleep. On the night I do that and then happen to wake up at three am I have the same thought.

I don’t want to be seen, I want to be heard.

This, I think is why I write; because I want to be heard.

Have you ever listened to your own three am thoughts?

What is your subconscious telling you?
